Horrific and Tragic Ending for Jaquinn Brewton

Philadelphia Police just released details into the death of Jaquinn Brewton, and it heart breaking to say the least.

This three year old mentally challenged child was punched, kicked and burned with a blowtorch until his little body could no longer take the abuse.

These actions all came to ahead when the couple "caring" for the child claimed the boy fell down the steps when police arrived at their apartment after receiving reports of a child falling through a window.

This has been a sad week for our children...

First Casey Anthony is set free after going 31 days without reporting her dead child missing.

Then a man high on PCP attempts to kidnap a child in Best Buy.

Tonight, hold your toddlers close...

Take Off Pants At Work Month

This morning while reading through my press releases, an interesting tibit caught my eye. Due to the excessive heat Richter7 (an advertising and public relations agency) in Utah has mandated a "No Pants" policy from July 12th to August 12.

Needless to say, this will result in an interesting fashion month for its employees..

For the five-week period, all employees will be encouraged to wear shorts, skirts, capris, lava lavas, sarongs, kilts, saris – anything but pants – to work until the heat lets up, even in professional client meetings. Those wearing pants will face the "knickerbocker police," who will fine offenders one quarter. In addition, there will be a donation bin at the office all month, and employees are encouraged to donate clothing to the cause.

This is an interesting concept...until you forget this is in place.

What other ideas would you come up with to give to those less fortunate?

Casey Anthony Verdict and Sentencing

We are all outraged at the not guilty verdict, but the jury can only go by the evidence.  Clearly, in this case there was not enough evidence to convict Casey Anthony of first-degree murder.  Let’s not forget the burden of proof is on the prosecution; the defense only has to create reasonable doubt.  That is what the logical part of me says.
Emotionally, I am sick.  As a mother of a two year old daughter, myself, I cannot wrap my mind around her behavior.   For your baby to be ‘missing’ for 31 days and not tell anyone.  It just does not make sense.  One could make the argument that Anthony is simply guilty of poor parenting, but I would argue that she guilty of something far more sinister.  Murder?  Perhaps.  What I know is the entire truth was not told about the death of Caylee.
At the end of the day, an innocent two-year old baby died.   To me, that’s heartbreaking.
