My assumption is that is was the break in the weather but for whatever reason after two consecutive slow weeks the Walnut Room was packed on Wednesday. It was good seeing many of the regulars coming back out. Winter time in Philly is kind of rough as far as getting people to come out. DJ Brendan and Low B we're doing their thing from the very start of the night and I wish I could tell you that was the highlight but it wasn't. Philadelphia's current Mayor and one time DJ, Mix Master Mike, chose to visit the best Wednesday night party in the city!
It was awesome that the Mayor came by but it was more than a visit. He stayed a partied with us all night long. Mix Master Mike had to have taken over 200 pictures that night as he mingled with anyone whom asked for hit attention. At the peak of the evening, DJ Brendan through on the classic Sugar Hill record and believe it or not Mayor Nutter actually hyped up the crowd and performed. Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best performance ever but it definitely made the night.
Im hoping that next week we can get former Mayor street in there to perform What We Do by Freeway. Now that will be classic.
